They introduce all three factions to its entirety as the three "main" fighting forces. Anyways I if you didn't guess this is a direct sequel to the first season. The other thing is that it is soo loosely based that you really wonder why they even bothered to make a connection.

The whole toushi factor just doesn't work less so then in the first series as well. I think overall my beef with the entire concept mainly lies in there attempt to incorporate Romance of the three kingdoms into an modern day anime.
